Curricular Outline-

• 4 Voices-

  • Singing, whisper, talking voice and thinking voice

• The Beat-

  • Patting the beat to our songs and chants

  • Counting how many beats are in a song

  • Accelerando- The Italian word for "speeding up the beat"

  • Marching and moving to the beat

• Melody Line- Trace the sounds in the air, and notes go up your line goes up, as notes go down your fingers go down

  • Recognizing pitch movement up and down

• Staccato and Legato-

  • Staccato- Short quick notes "like popping popcorn"

  • Legato- Smooth and connected notes

• Hispanic Heritage

  • Learned about the brain science between speaking different langueges

  • Learned two songs in Spanish "Mi Querpo" and "Tres Pajaritos"

  • Performed songs in class in both Spanish and English

• Movement Games-

  • Moving to the beat

  • Circle Dances with changing of partners

  • Skipping to the beat

  • Marching to the beat

  • Chasing games  (no running, just galloping, skipping and scooting for safety purposes!)
